Wednesday 1/27

Throughout the last semester I have spoken about weather folklore, and how it has allowed people to predict the daily weather. Now you will verify what I have said. Today you will receive the instructions for a weather folklore project. You will receive the instructions and will be able to select a weather saying to research. Tomorrow we will meet in the library computer lab. The instructions are here to download. The links to suggested web sources are live in this document. You can see a sample of a slide show here. You will need to cite your sources correctly. Click here for instructions in Word format, and Here is a tool to help you!
You will present your slide show to the class on Monday.

A very important assignment here. Talk to your old people at home and request that they provide the following information:
  • the number of kWh (killowatt hours) from a recent electric bill
  • if you use natural gas, the amount used from a recent bill
  • an estimate of the number of gallons of heating oil used in a year
You will be needing this soon to calculate your carbon footprint.
