"STUFF" - interesting web sites that might not fit anywhere else

Watch out for computer virus hoaxes - you know, those URGENT messages you get from well-meaning but unknowing friends who pass on every chicken-little report they hear.  They can cause more trouble than real viruses.  Check here for virus hoaxesfor the real story before you forward that message to everyone you know.  And for the rest of the hoaxes, like missing children, sending postcards to the sick little girl, getting a free trip to Disneyland or Applebee's, check here before bothering your friends!

Attend Harvard - Free! There are lots of lectures presented by the professors at Harvard that have been recorded and can be heard here

How would a physician describe that bump on your knee?  What does a carpenter call that strange tool? Learn the vocabulary of Australian bushfire fighters. For thousands of glossaries, look here.

Pun of the Day - Seven days without a pun makes one weak!  Start your day with a groan

Museum of  Musical Instruments - The MoMI encompasses a mixture of history and design expressed through instruments, artists, and their music - look, listen, learn!

The Harry Potter Lexicon - Claims to be "The Ultimate Harry Potter Reference", and it appears to be - besides links to other excellent Potter sites, there are pronouncing dictionaries, links to resources about mythological and other references in the books, themes in the books, including the prejudices shown by muggles and wizards towards each other, Rowling's use of descriptions, and much more for reader and teacher.  This is not a "fan site".
